Automobile Rental

The University has agreements with many of the top rental car agencies. When you rent a vehicle through agencies with University agreements, the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) are included in the discounted rate at no additional cost. Please use rental agencies with University agreements whenever possible and decline the CDW and SLI offered by the agency.

The University will not reimburse the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) of a car rental agreement, with few exceptions.

The UCSD preferred travel program, Connexxus has the UC Identification Number and can make automobile reservations for UCSD travelers.

While this is discouraged, your personal credit card may also cover these at no additional cost. If you rent a car by this route, it is recommended that you call your credit card company before doing so.
